  • What is HFC-227ea?

HFC-227ea clean agent is a globally recognized clean agent used in fire suppression systems. It can be commonly known as FM200 or MH227.

  • What fire agents do BlazeCut use?

The BlazeCut T series systems use HFC-227ea and the BlazeCut C series systems have the options of ABE dry chemical powder, HFC-227ea, FK-5-1-12, antifreeze foam and standard foam agents.

  • What is the BlazeCut T Series?

BlazeCut T series is a self contained Fire suppression system that does not require any cylinders or complex installation. It is a specialised tube that contains clean agent HFC-227ea fire agent, it is easily installed by heat stabilised cable ties that are supplied with the system. When the system is exposed to temperatures above 105 degrees Celsius, the tube ruptures and releases the agent into the enclosure.

  • What is the BlazeCut C Series?

BlazeCut C series systems are cylinder based fire systems that have the option to use foam, powder or gaseous fire agents. There is the option of a Direct or Indirect systems which depends on the application is used. The indirect system has a distribution network with nozzles to suppress the fire.

  • What range of products do BlazeCut have?

As long as the total volume of the room does not exceed the maximum volume coverage of the T Series or C series products, then yes it can be used in an engine room. Considerations need to be made if there is the possibility of occupants in the area at the time of discharge. Please contact us for more information.

  • What is the shelf life of the T Series system?

The T series systems have a 10 year shelf life. You can store or use the systems for up to 10 years. The working life of the system is up to 10 years and replacing it depends if it has been damaged or shows signs of wear and tear.

  • The Gauge on my BlazeCut T series system is showing 0 (zero) pressure, is it ok?

Due to physical and chemical properties of the agent, pressure in the tube can vary depending on the ambient temperature. The higher the ambient temperature, the higher pressure in the tube and vice versa. At very low temperatures, the pressure gauge can be seen near zero due to the low pressure of agent vapours. When checking the pressure gauge during or after a engine running the Gauge may be showing closer the the red zone. This is not a problem as long as your enclosure is not exceeding 105 degrees Celcius. The Indicator on the pressure gauge can vary from 0 bar (0 psi) when temperatures are very low to 17 bar (247 psi) when temperatures are very high. This is not a sign of defect in the system. See our video for the inspection of the T series for further details

  • Which BlazeCut T Series system fits my car?

Please see our Vehicle Application Guide

  • Is the BlazeCut T series systems a replacement for a fire extinguisher in my vehicle?

In the event of a fire, the BlazeCut T series system will automatically rupture its tube to release the fire extinguishing agent into the protected area such as the engine bay. This 24/7 automatic process ensures you can focus to safely exit the vehicle and move away from the risk area. However, we strongly recommend also having a fire extinguisher on hand, as it can protect you from fires in areas of the vehicle where a T series system is not installed or where automatic fire suppression might be less effective.

  • What is the BlazeCut T series Fire class rating?

BlazeCut T series covers ABC and Electrical fires.

  • Can you use multiple or several T Series systems in one application?

No only one BlazeCut T series system is to be installed to cover the enclosure. 2x 2m lengths is not the same as 1x 4m length, because if there was a fire then it is possible that only 1 of the 2m system would discharge and the gas volume would not be enough to suppress the fire.

  • How Long does the T Series system last?

BlazeCut is a single use product that lasts up to 10 years depending on application and environment.

  • How does BlazeCut T series system work?

The BlazeCut tube is heat sensitive. When it reaches a sustained 105 degrees Celsius, a hole is melted in the tube forming the nozzle and releasing the HFC-227ea. The extinguishing agent siphons heat from fire, disrupts the reaction of burning, slows this reaction and suppresses the fire. The amount of agent released into the enclosure is designed to exceed the amount required as per the minimum design concentrations according to NFPA 2001 : 2018 edition.
